2018 Trans Am Schedule Announced
MIAMI, Fla. [November 6, 2017] – The Trans Am Race Company has unveiled the 2018 Trans Am Championship presented by Pirelli schedule for its 52nd anniversary season, with the vast majority of the 2017 event platform returning.

Lewis Grabs TA2 Win at COTA
AUSTIN, Texas. [November 4, 2017] – In the culmination of a career day, Shane Lewis, driver of the No. 72 Pura Vida Tequila/ 74 Ranch Resort Chevrolet Camaro, captured the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli TA2 class win in the Trans American Muscle Car Challenge at Circuit of the Americas.
The TA2 class exclusive races saw competitors from both Trans Am’s primary series and Trans Am’s West Coast Championship run in unison, combining for 31 cars taking the green flag. Over the course of the 2017 season, Lewis participated in both championships, in the East for Robinson Racing, in the West for Napoleon Motorsports, and was eligible for both divisions.
Last Lap Pass Gives Francis, Jr. TA Victory
AUSTIN, Texas. [November 4, 2017] – In rare come-from-behind fashion Ernie Francis, Jr., secured his seventh Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli win of the season at Circuit of The Americas with a last gasp pass over Lawrence Loshak on the final lap. Joining in the podium celebration with class victories were Jason Daskalos and Shane Lewis, in the TA3 and TA4.
Francis, who captured the season title a race prior at New Jersey Motorsports Park, began the race on pole in the No. 98 FramelessShowerDoors.com Ford Mustang but spent much of the race in pursuit of the lap.

Honda and Acura Grab SCCA National Titles
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 2, 2017) – Honda and Acura racers won four Sports Car Club of America national championship titles, including podium sweeps in both the highly-competitive Super Touring Light and Formula F classes, at the 2017 SCCA National Championship Runoffs, contested this past weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
A total of 105 Honda and Acura racers, the largest Runoffs field for the manufacturer since the start of the Honda Racing Line grassroots motorsports program in 2009, traveled to the legendary Indianapolis track’s road course for this year’s 54th annual national championships.
